German electronic music DJ and producer Paul van Dyk has released three singles this year, working up to the release of his sixth studio album slated for 2010. Home is the second of the three and it was released several months ago. It features the vocals of singer and songwriter Johnny McDaid (formerly of Vega4). Home has not charted in the U.S. or U.K., but was #64 in Germany. Van Dyk has been reported to be working on a hymn that will be performed during a ceremony celebrating the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.
I am writing about Home as a notable single today simply because I find the cover strangely compelling. I am not quite sure if the houseboat in the photograph is real or just a model. It looks like a place I would like to spend a few days, drifting and taking it easy. I’m not too sure about calling it “home” though. It is definitely more of a vacation spot.
