Best album cover for the week of February 23, 2010

According to our AlbumArtExchange poll, The Golden Archipelago by Shearwater is the best album cover for the week of February 23, 2010. The cover won by only one vote and there was a three-way tie for second place between Alkaline Trio’s This Addiction, the late Johnny Cash’s American VI: Aint No Grave and Joanna Newsom’s Have One On Me.

The cover is a very surreal image of a draped figure floating toward an island. It probably represents somekind of ancient death rite, but I’m really not that interested in finding out whether or not that is the case.
