New and Notable: Nhojj

Here is something interesting. According to the MTV Top 100 the number one music video today is a same-sex love ballad by openly gay R&B singer Nhojj. The video is for Love, a track on Nhojj’s 2009 album Love Songs. Getting the top video is difficult for any artist. For one with this particular subject matter, it is nothing short of amazing.

The description on YouTube reads:

Directed by Kirk Shannon-Butts and contains clips of the Indie movie “Blueprint” which screened at 2008 Cannes International Festival. “Love” is featured on the 2x Velocity nominated CD “Soul Comfort” and “Love Songs” Video Production by Houston Street Productions with the assistance of Rod Patrick Risbook (Big Rod).

I like the album cover for Love Songs features a portrait of the artist with rose petals in his very long dreds. I am surprised that I had never heard of this artist until today.
