About the Editor

2869sml.jpgFritz Liess is a professional Web editor with over 15 years experience writing and editing online content. He began his career in online communication and marketing with Kinko's Inc. and was an early adopter of blog publishing. He started his first blog, On the Fritz, in 2000.

Fritz has had an obsessive interest in album art since high school. So, becoming the editor in chief of a new blog about album art for the AlbumArtExchange (AAX) was a perfect fit.

Album art has been a part of popular culture for the last 70 years. Contrary to what some may think, it is definitely not a dying art form. As new technologies emerge and the lines between home entertainment and computer systems blur, album art will remain an important part of the music we collect.

The mission of the AAX blog is to focus on the good, the bad, and the ugly aspects of album art. While there are countless talented graphic designers and art directors making amazing covers for albums, E.P.s and singles, there are always a few rotten apples. By giving honest criticism and giving balanced coverage to the good and bad covers, it is hoped that the standards and quality album art design will continue to grow.

If you have a question or comment for Fritz, please feel free to send an e-mail message to blog@albumartexchange.com.
