According to our AlbumArtExchange Blog poll, the best album cover for the week of March 2, 2010 is Peter Gabriel's Scratch My Back. The cover won by a landslide, with 76% of the vote. Jamie Cullum's The Pursuit was a very distant second and Rogue Wave's Permalight and the Almost Alice complilation tied for third.

I am not surprised by this result. The Scratch My Back cover is an impressive image that makes people look twice.

There were a few that I had to leave out.

According to our AlbumArtExchange poll, The Golden Archipelago by Shearwater is the best album cover for the week of February 23, 2010. The cover won by only one vote and there was a three-way tie for second place between Alkaline Trio's This Addiction, the late Johnny Cash's American VI: Aint No Grave and Joanna Newsom's Have One On Me.

The cover is a very surreal image of a draped figure floating toward an island. It probably represents somekind of ancient death rite, but I'm really not that interested in finding out whether or not that is the case.

As usual, I will be posting this week's poll later this evening. Be sure to check back, because there are some wonderful designs this time. I'm sure people will have a difficult time choosing just one.

There's no surprise this time. Sade's Soldier of Love was selected best album cover for the week of February 9, 2010 by 68% o the vote. This beautiful album cover is certain to be one of the best of the year. If nothing else, it has set the bar very high for 2010 releases.

Massive Attack's Heligoland came in a very distant second place, followed by The Watson Twins' Talking To You Talking To Me.

According to last week's AlbumArtExchange poll, the best album cover for the week of February 2, 2010 is BT's These Hopeful Machines. This one came as a surprise to me. I thought both of the runners up where a bit more interesting.

The cover for Stages by Vedera came in second and Midlake's The Courage of Others was third. I do like the illustration used for the BT cover. Perhaps the red roses are in keeping with the Valentine's Day spirit that is in the air.

According to our AlbumArtExchange poll, the best album cover for the week of January 19, 2010 is 2010 Grammy Nominees compilation. This one surprises me. It is a very nice design, combining illustration and typography. However, I did not anticipate that it would get the most votes.

My Dinosaur Life by Motion City Soundtrack came in second. Astro Coast by Surfer Blood was third. My favorite, Transference by Spoon, came in last.
